Buckden

Where to stay? What to do?

Bucked is well-loved by walkers and even the occasional fell runner, Buckden Pike Fell Race is in June every year, starting in the centre of the village. Walkers are attracted to the steep slopes of the Dale and variety of countryside; from open fields to wooded hillsides with moorland on the tops. If you’re lucky, you might catch sight of a couple of rare red squirrels, together with other wildlife such as hares, rabbits and pheasants.

There is a variety of accommodation from holiday cottages at Dalegarth to bed, breakfast and evening meals at the White Lion in Cray, one mile to the North. If you are looking for the peace and quiet of the Yorkshire Dales – you’ll find it in Buckden!

Buckden is situated on the B6160 North of Kettlewell in Upper Wharfdale, with the famous Buckden Pike to the North East of the village.
