North Dales
The northern part of the Yorkshire Dales stretches from Sedbergh in the west to Leyburn in the east & from Buckton northwards.
The three market towns of Sedbergh, Hawes, & Leyburn contain lots of bed & breakfast, pubs, shops & cafes while the surrounding countryside has plenty of country inns, holiday cottages, caravan parks & camp sites. Richmond & Leyburn are not actually in the Yorkshire Dales but serve the area & rely heavily on visitors to the Dales.
Middleham is the ancient home of Prince Richard (later Richard III) & is now noted for its horse riding stables; Masham has two famous breweries (Black Sheep & Theakstons) & an annual sheep fair in September. Easily accessible from the M6 & the A1 but watch out for the narrow roads and stone walls.
Enjoy your visit.
